Message from the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Thailand
on the 93rd National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

23 September 2023

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its 93rd National Day on the 23rd of September each year. In memory of the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after the epic acts of heroism led by the founder, HM King Abdulaziz Al Saud, after he recovered the city of Riyadh, capital of his ancestors and fathers, on the 5th day of January 1902. On this blessed occasion, the Kingdom and its Embassies throughout the world celebrate this day as it does each year on this date.

I am pleased to celebrate this year in Bangkok as an Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and present on behalf of myself and my colleagues at the Embassy our congratulations to HM the King and members of Royal family of the Kingdom of Thailand, the Government of Thailand and the friendly Thai people for normalizing the relationship between our two countries in all areas of mutual cooperation in a way that serve the interests of the two Kingdoms and their peoples. The visit of HE Gen Prayuth Chan-o-cha, former Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, to Saudi Arabia upon the gracious invitation from HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the 25th of January 2023, and also the visit of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister to the Kingdom of Thailand during the 17th – 19th of November 2022 were  historic milestones in the journey of bilateral relations between the two countries. It should also be remembered that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was the first Arabic country to establish diplomatic relations with the Kingdom of Thailand back in 1957.

I would like to reaffirm the directions and keenness of the leadership of the two countries to enhancing and moving the relationship forward. The increasing exchange of visits between officials and delegations from both Kingdoms is to strengthen and consolidate our relations as well as sign agreements and MoUs with various sectors such as commerce, energy, tourism, investment, education and other fields.

Finally, I would also like to extend my wishes for further prosperity and progress for our two countries and look forward to make every effort to enhance the bilateral relations that will benefit both Kingdoms and their peoples.
