The 55th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar Press Conference

The Thai Red Cross Society in collaboration with spouses of the diplomats to Thailand invite shoppers to the fund-raising the 55th Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar. Organized under the concept “Happy Shopping and Enjoy Giving,” the annual fair will take place from 3-6 March 2022 at Royal Paragon Hall, 5 Floor, Siam Paragon, from 10.00 -20.00 hrs. and via online platform at www.dpcredcrossbazaar.com. HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, Executive Vice President of the Thai Red Cross Society, will graciously preside over the opening on Thursday 3 March 2022 at 8.30 hrs. at Royal Paragon Hall, 5 Floor, Siam Paragon. Proceeds from the event will be presented to HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for her charitable cause for the Thai Red Cross Society.

Attended the recent press conference were the fair co-hosts Director of Fund Raising Bureau at The Thai Red Cross Society Mr. Khan Prachuabmoh, spouse of The Singaporean Ambassador to Thailand and Chairman of the Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar in 2022 Mrs. Low Hui Ching and Deputy Director of Fund Raising Bureau at the Thai Red Cross Society Mrs. Janprapa Vichitcholchai. Also joining were spouses of the diplomats to Thailand Madame Francesca Andreini Galanti, Madame Omneya Ahmed Mahmoud, Madame Datin Catherina Christine Cherrian, Madame María Ximena Ríos Hamann and Siam Alliance Management executives Mr. Talun Theng and Mrs. Kritsana Janyasakulwong. The organizers also welcomed Walaitip Suetrongmunkong Kityaporn Chaithavornsathien, Piyanuch Chaturapha, Suraporn Sukhumalchandr, Rungthiwa Prajundoom, ML Auradis Snidvongs, Koontinee Krairiksh and Miss International Thailand 2019-2021 and actress from ONE 31 channel Sireethorn ‘Bint’ Leearamwat.  

Mr. Khan Prachuabmoh, Director of Fund Raising Bureau at The Thai Red Cross Society said “The Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar went hybrid for the first time last year, offering on ground and online together with delivery services. It is a great opportunity to reach wider groups of people and a convenience way to shop from the fair for people who might not be able to experience on ground shopping or living in other provinces. This year, we continue to the hybrid form of event and extends to a longer period of four days which will facilitate social-distancing practice and longer period to join the fair. Visitors can also support The Thai Red Cross Society with the purchase of The Thai Red Cross Diplomatic Fair lottery tickets or donate through the online platform. In 2021, a total of 8.5 million baht was raised and the organizing committee has allocated the funds to many projects such as the project to help doctors to build emergency field hospital and medical equipment for Covid-19 patients at Chulalongkorn Hospital by the Thai Red Cross Society, Center of Excellence in MRNA Vaccine Research and Development at Chulalongkorn University’s Faculty of Medicine. In addition, the proceeds also went to The Excellence Center for Burns, Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer Foundation, Excellence for Parkinson’s Disease & Related Disorders at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, sharing to physically dependence seniors or home repairing for the underprivileges via provincial Red Cross Society.

Mrs. Low Hui Ching, spouse of The Singaporean Ambassador to Thailand, Chairman of the Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar in 2022 said “Over 54 countries join forces in this fair. Canada and Bulgaria are also returning. Each country has sourced their best and signature products ranging  from household goods from the US, rose soap and skincare products from  Bulgaria, personal care products from Spain and pure argan oil from Morocco. Featured also are cashmere top, scarves and shawls from Mongolia, quality salmon from Norway, glassware from The Czech Republic as well as local handicrafts from Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Russian nestling dolls. Visitor will also enjoy browsing quality coffee and tea from Brazil, Canada, Germany, Kenya and Chile, superfood from Peru, wide varieties of snacks and beverages from Singapore, Korea and Japan, chocolate and cheese from Belgium, Switzerland and Italy, kitchen ware and utensils, fresh and dried fruits, date and carpets from Turkey, skincare, cosmetics and OTOP products from Thailand and souvenirs from various countries, altogether 176 booths and products from many royal-initiated  projects. Visitors can also support the Thai Red Cross Society with the purchase of Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar raffle tickets at 50 baht each. Janprapa Vichitcholchai, Deputy Director, Fund Raising Bureau of the Thai Red Cross Society said about the e-commerce platform of the Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar in 2022 that “Our e-commerce platform is available for the second year. The online service not only offers convenience for shoppers but also presents activities in line with the on-site experience. Shoppers can browse through photo gallery featuring the supports from the fund raised by previous Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar, donate to fund -raising projects through the platform, enjoy international cultural performances and purchase Diplomatic Red Cross Bazaar raffle tickets. Joining the online platform are shops from the Embassies, royal-initiated projects, private companies and    The Thai Red Cross souvenirs shop. Over 80 exhibitors will be offering their products online, a greater number than last year. Thailand Post will also offers special delivery rate. Fresh food, fruits or chocolate can be delivered across the countries via temperature-controlled vehicles. For on-ground experiences at Royal Paragon Hall, now special price early-bird entry tickets are available at only 40 baht (from normal prize 50 baht) at www.dpcredcrossbazaar.com. The special rate is available only from today to 2 March. We invite you to join the fair or enjoy online shopping. Kritsana Janyasakulwong, Senior Director, Sales & Marketing Management Group at Siam Alliance Management Co., Ltd. said about the event organizing and the preventive safety measures that “Royal Paragon Hall has leveraged our health safety measures to the highest level and has strictly followed the guidelines by the Ministry of Health. Limiting numbers of visitors, social distancing measures are strictly implemented as well as frequent cleaning of touchpoints and stringent health screening for staff. Also, all staff must receive at least two does of Covid-19 vaccination and tested negative with ATK test kit before the operation. After operation hours, the venue will undergo daily big cleaning with disinfectant sprayer and air conditioning system cleaning. In addition, thanks to the support by SCG International, FAR UVC 222 Disinfection Light with  wavelength spectrum of 222 nanometers is installed at the fair.  The disinfecting equipment effectively kill viruses and bacteria in the air and surfaces and safe for human, to ensure health safety for visitors.
